These beams are individually handmade by us using baltic birch and non-toxic, zero VOC paints. This is a wonderful toy for encouraging open-ended play - our son uses them not only as a balancing beam but also as a "road" and "bridge" for his cars! Older children enjoy playing the floor is lava and coming up with creative obstacle courses. These balance beams are wonderful for developing a child's gross motor skills and enhancing their physical activity. They can fold or come apart for easy storage. The current build time is one to two weeks.
